That, in a nutshell, is how you format a hard drive using Windows 10. The same rules apply for SSDs, SATA drives, USB flash drives, and internal/external drives. Just remember to do all your backing up beforehand! New Technology File System or NTFS for short is a file system developed by Microsoft for Windows operating system. It used by the old hard drive and currently is part of USB flash drives. But, all majority of flash drives uses FAT32 format by default.

I was just about to create a ticket like this. I'm having a very similar issue. I think it may be related.

I'm trying to install Windows 10 64 bit from a bootable flash drive on a laptop that will only detect UEFI drives. The bios is gimped and there is no option for CSM either.

For some reason UEFI GPT FAT32 is detected but fails to boot, restarting instantly.
GPT UEFI NTFS detects and tries to boot but quickly says:

Format Usb For Windows 10 Install Fat32 Or Ntfs

I figured maybe it was my ISO and sure enough 'bootia32.efi' was not in 'efibootbootia32.efi', only 'bootx64.efi' was. So I took 'bootia32.efi' from the FAT partition named UEFI_NTFS and put it with 'bootx64.efi'. This created a second identical bootable device which also didn't work. (Not that I though it really would)..

I tried UEFI MBR FAT32. Instant reboot.
And also UEFI MBR NTFS which has the same result as UEFI GPT NTFS.

I can't run the windows installer directly because the exe is 64 bit and the laptop has 8.1 32 bit installed even though it is 64 bit capable. This wouldn't be that serious of an issue except I can't get it to boot properly and my customer expects me to fix it ASAP.. I'll try to buy some time to continue working with it.

Otherwise I'm out of luck. I have no way to upgrade this machine to a 64 bit OS or reformat it. :(
